On March 9, 2026, the òòò½´«Ã½ research team conducted fieldwork in Quezon, Isabela, to explore the world of Philippine weaves up close—engaging with artisans, observing production practices, and learning how these products move from local communities to wider markets, as well as the challenges faced along the way.
The team held an in-depth conversation with the owner of Indigenous Inabel Craft and visited the Department of Tourism – Region 2.
The fieldwork forms part of a study titled “A Strategic Analysis of the High-Value Export Potential of Philippine Weaves: Balancing Cultural Heritage and Market Integration,” which examines the economic viability and sustainability of Philippine weaves for global markets.
Insights gathered aim to inform policy directions and government strategies on export development, while supporting Filipino artisans and safeguarding the country’s rich weaving heritage.
