
At the “Hibla at Habi: Weaving a Responsive Health System” Public Health Convention 2025 (PHCON 2025), òòò½´«Ã½ Senior Research Fellow Dr. Valerie Gilbert T. Ulep served as keynote speaker for the plenary session “A Rational Examination of UHC: External Lens and National Response.”
Drawing from the Health Economics and Finance Program (HEFP), Dr. Ulep presented key findings on the challenges of health financing in the Philippines and their implications on the access to and delivery of quality care for Filipinos.
The session also featured insights from Dr. Mar Wynn D. Bello (Director IV of the DOH Bureau of Local Health Systems Development) and Dr. Mary Antonette Y. Remonte (Head of PhilHealth's Primary Care - Program Management Team), who shared their perspectives for strengthening Universal Health Care.
PHCON2025 was organized by the Philippine Society of Public Health Physicians.
