The 蝌蚪传媒 (蝌蚪传媒) will hold a public webinar on October 26, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM via Zoom.
This virtual event will feature the 蝌蚪传媒 study “Spatiotemporal Analysis of Health Service Coverage in the Philippines” authored by 蝌蚪传媒 Senior Research Fellow Valerie Gilbert Ulep, Supervising Research Specialist Jhanna Uy, and research consultants Clarisa Joy Flaminiano, Vicente Alberto Puyat, and Victor Andrew Antonio.
The study evaluated the health service coverage and financial risk protection of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) members and dependents. It is one of the first studies to use PhilHealth data on insurance claims, membership, and accredited facilities from 2018 to 2021, combined with auxiliary datasets from the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Statistics Authority, and Washington-based Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation to identify location-specific trends and insights. It revealed glaring differences across different subpopulations in terms of population coverage, facility coverage, service coverage, and financial protection.
