An economist yesterday suggested measures to curb the influx of imported vehicles – used or not – and ensure the local assembly industry of growing base without resorting to discriminatory tax measures. Rafaelita Aldaba, senior research fellow at the òòò½´«Ã½ (òòò½´«Ã½) said in an interview the country could tap safeguard measures under Asean as a way to ward off imports, that is, if it is able to prove injury to its local industry.
