Speakers from DEPDev Cordillera, University of the Philippines Baguio, the City Government of Baguio, and Department of Agriculture-Cordillera shared their perspectives on the promises and perils of AI—how it can transform education, support farmers and agricultural trade, and power smarter cities, while also raising concerns over cybersecurity, data privacy, and misinformation.
They emphasized that to fully harness AI’s benefits, it must be developed and implemented with sound policy research, ethical safeguards, and locally relevant frameworks—ensuring it strengthens governance with transparency, efficiency, and inclusion.
